Description
Aging Mastery Program (AMP)
Through evidence-informed materials, expert speakers, group discussions, peer support, and tiny rewards, students will gain the skills and tools to achieve measurable improvements that lead to better health, stronger financial security, and overall well-being. Topics include social connectedness, movement, healthy eating, advanced planning, sleep, financial fitness, medication management, and fall prevention. Each participant will receive a workbook and tangible ways to build these things into their own life. In addition to healthy behaviors, participants will learn personal, realistic goal setting with autonomy and purpose.
This is our fourth cohort in Chaffee County, and previous students have used the phrase “life-changing” more than once. Not only do you get to invest in yourself to live the rest of your life in quality, be empowered to create your future plans, and build your legacy, but you’ll also laugh, meet others, and talk about topics sometimes left not always brought up over coffee.
Chaffee County Public Health is offering the course licensed under the National Coalition on Aging. To learn more, follow this link. Your instructor will be Emily Marquis, a Chaffee County local that is a board-certified health and wellness coach, yoga instructor, and adjunct professor. She has her master’s degree in health coaching and is passionate about bringing people together to feel well and connect.
The program is ten consecutive weeks long and includes a participant workbook (Chaffee County residents) and many local and national resources to support learning. AMP is offered in person and virtually. You can choose how you’d like to show up for each class. Classes will be recorded and its recommended to be absent no more than one or two times.
